In this session, Professor Monica Higgins discussed her research on psychological safety and organizational culture in schools. She will draw on prior research in social psychology, management, and organizational behavior about the kinds of work conditions that enable people to do their best work. Monica will share some hot-off-the-press research that looks at the work environment of schools in NYC as reported by teachers. In particular, this new research explores how psychological safety and felt accountability can, together, create the conditions for maximum learning in schools. This research was just published in March 2022.
