In this session, Teaching Lab shared lessons learned during the pre-launch phases of their New Mexico study. Teaching Lab is seeking to determine the effectiveness of mathematical language routines and culturally responsive and sustaining education on educational outcomes of multilingual learners, and students in other underserved demographic groups. Primary lessons learned are in overcoming challenges in a large state-wide study, both in research design and research infrastructure.
