RPPL surveyed PL provider organizations across its network to understand AI’s increasing influence on teacher PL, what research is needed, and how AI can be leveraged to improve PL and student outcomes.

While some organizations use AI to improve operations, most are aiming to personalize learning and enhance instructional decision-making. This report identifies opportunities for research investments that will translate into tangible benefits for educators and students. This report presents findings from RPPL’s 2025 AI network scan, including case studies that illustrate how organizations are experimenting with AI, and calls for a shift in focus.
RPPL identified four key strategies that will facilitate the successful integration of AI technologies in PL: co-develop and study real-world use cases, build decision-making tools and shared resources, facilitate structured peer learning, and unify the field behind a shared, PL practitioner-informed research agenda.
NOTE: The paper will be released to the broader public on June 4, so please do not share this with others outside of our network!
