Brown Bag: Building Research Capacity into Program Design: Learnings from UnboundEd (4/18/23)

In this session, the UnboundEd team will lead a collaborative learning session about building professional learning organizations’ capacity for research/evaluation. Drawing on lessons from our work, we will first outline how research teams can build trust across an organization’s different teams to ensure that services incorporate measurement and evaluation as an integral tenet. In large and small group discussions, participants will then explore the following questions: (1) How can we build program teams’ knowledge and understanding of research/evaluation? and (2) How can we provide teams with the tools necessary to be successful when engaging with research? As they navigate these questions, participants will connect with colleagues as they learn some best practices for building organization-wide capacity for evaluation, share their experiences connecting research/evaluation to practice within their organizations, and co-construct a list of crowdsourced best practices for incorporating research/evaluation into developing and implementing professional learning programs.
