Coffee Chat: Coaching Moves Framework, Building a Common Language for Facilitating Coaching Conversations (3/27/25)

The Coaching Moves Framework synthesizes the existing coaching research into a taxonomy of coaching moves, highlighting the range of facilitation strategies coaches may employ. In doing so, the framework offers a common lens and language for reflecting on and improving coaching practice.

By Arielle Boguslav, PhD |Senior Research Associate| RPPL and Annenberg Institute at Brown University

Arielle provided an overview of the framework and highlighted how coaches and coaching leads can use the framework as a tool for 1) creating a shared vision of coaching, 2) reflecting on and planning for coaching, and 3) collecting data on the moves coaches use.
