This session covers a recent pilot study of a peer coaching model called Reciprocal Coaching. One early learning: teachers are interested in finding PL resources that are relevant to their practice when they set individual goals and monitor their progress alongside a teacher colleague who is engaged in the same process.
Vinci Daro presented on behalf of her work with Tamyra Walker on a recent learning from a pilot study of a peer coaching model called Reciprocal Coaching. ConnectED is finding that teachers have an increasing interest in finding professional learning resources that are relevant to their practice when they set their own individual goals based on data from their students, and monitor their own progress alongside a teacher colleague who is engaged in the same process. In the Reciprocal Coaching model they are refining, the role of a peer makes a difference in teachers’ appetite for professional learning, for trying out new practices, and for reflecting on student survey data.
