RPPL recently completed an AIMS Mini-Grant project, Enhancing Research & Development through Professional Learning: Snapshots from EBRPSS and the NYC Partnership for Math Equity. With the rapid integration of digital tools into K–12 classrooms, high-quality, targeted PL is more critical than ever. This project examined how PL is embedded in R&D efforts involving digital math tools, highlighting real-world examples from East Baton Rouge Parish School System (EBRPSS) and the NYC Partnership for Math Equity.
Drawing on interviews, pacing guides, facilitation plans, and teacher feedback, the RPPL team analyzed how these initiatives align with the research base on effective PL, using our Dispelling the Myths and Building Better PL briefs. These snapshots of practice provide evidence-informed insights and actionable recommendations, co-developed with network partners, to guide the field in designing better-integrated PL for digital tool implementation.
