RPPL’s in-network grant review process uses an equity-centered, rigorous peer review, incorporating diverse perspectives to ensure impartial evaluation and constructive feedback for proposal improvement. Learn more about our Equity-Focused Peer Review Process.
RPPL’s grant review process is designed to ensure that proposals are evaluated through an equity-centered lens, emphasizing fairness, rigor, and transparency. This process includes an Equity-Focused Peer Review, where proposals are reviewed by three peer reviewers from diverse professional contexts within our network, including members of the RPPL Research Advisory Council, PL organization members and affiliates, and currently practicing educators. Reviewers also represent a range of social identities, such as race, gender, and ethnicity, to provide a comprehensive and inclusive evaluation. Each proposal is assessed based on predetermined criteria, and applicants receive detailed, constructive feedback to enhance their work.
The development of this process involved extensive collaboration and input from various stakeholders committed to advancing equity in teacher PL. RPPL central plays a crucial role in making final funding decisions, grounded in a thorough analysis of peer evaluator scores and feedback. This rigorous approach ensures that funded projects are of high quality and have a significant impact, aligning with RPPL’s commitment to fostering equitable educational practices and outcomes.
